Casa von Moltke was built in 1886 by its original owner, the German architect Carlos von Moltke. Throughout the years the greatness of the structure of the house has been subject to a lot of changes and interventions, becoming a very different represention of the golden years of this historic port. Valparaiso was a centre of great economic and intelectual importance which attracted famous poets and artists from all over the world.

Today, the house has regained its magnifiscence. Matías del Río, designer and founder of Del Rio Diseño and the brand Del Rio al Mar, accomplished a personal project that connected him with Valparaíso;  the restauration of this house through an innovative proposal that made him win the renouned Corfo prize, and gave Casa von Moltke a new spirit.
